In 1992 I took a week's retreat at Kripalu Center for Yoga, in Lenox, MA. There I discovered that many of my difficulties were soothed by the miraculous practice of Yoga. It led me back to myself as the source of my solutions. It was such a wonderful find that when I returned home, I found that going to a class a few times a week and practicing daily wasn't enough for me. I wanted to know more, to practice more and to find like-minded people. Soon I found myself back at Kripalu, enrolled in Yoga Teacher Training. I'm pleased to say that I've never been the same!
I opened The Hadley Yoga Studio in 1999, after teaching for five years in Leverett, Hadley, Northampton and Easthampton. The studio is intimate, beautiful and conducive to a relaxed and comfortable way of both practicing and teaching Yoga.
While I'm certified to teach Kripalu Yoga, I've also studied and practiced Anusara, Bikram, Astanga and Iyengar styles. The result is an eclectic style of teaching with an emphasis on our innate, compassionate heart centers. I have
also studied Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, the deeper practices of Kripalu Yoga and Lotus Palm Thai Yoga Bodywork—a wonderful application of Yoga.
Due to the powerful medicinal aspects of Yoga I move through life these days with comfort and ease—and I possess a mountain of compassion for those of us dealing with pain or limitation. The Hadley Yoga studio, while keeping a vigorous class on its schedule, specializes more in the gentle aspects of practice. All are welcome. Bring your limitations with you. You may surprise yourself.
